Overview

Hack the 6ix is the largest summer student run hackathon located in the heart of Toronto. Every August, over 500+ developers, designers, and innovators come together to tackle a problem of their choosing. At HT6, we believe the diversity and talent of our hackers contribute greatly to the success of our event. Now in its seventh iteration, Hack the 6ix has established itself as a key player in the Toronto tech ecosystem and provides a platform for students to present their ideas of the future.

My role

I work to grow existing partnerships with past sponsors and create new relationships with emerging companies. I act on behalf of Hack the 6ix when communicating with corporate representatives to secure monetary sponsorship, plan workshops, provide marketing services, and meet their business needs. Alongside the team, I created an outreach template, created a lead tracker on spreadsheet, and went through past HT6 data to create the sponsorship package for 2021.

My work

**Templates, tracker, and call information are private. However, if you’d like to learn more, I’d love to hop on a call!**

Takeaways

• Authentic relationship building and quick communication is essential. It’s never professional (nor a good sign) if we ghost potential sponsors (or anyone in general) for a few days.
